Xbox's cluttered home dashboard will undergo changes.

Following complaints, Xbox's cluttered home dashboard will undergo changes.
Microsoft has announced that it is going to reverse course on the planned modifications to the Xbox Home interface in response to criticism from the community that it is too cluttered.

Microsoft stated in September 2022 that it would be inviting Xbox Insiders to "help shape the new Xbox Home experience." In this experiment, "multi-month series of experiments" were conducted "to learn how to create a more personalized home screen experience and address some of the top trends and fan requests."

Unfortunately, the adjustments haven't been as well received as Microsoft had hoped. As a result, the company announced in a blog post that it is suspending the experiments and will instead focus on finding a way to "balance the experience, accessibility, function, and the needs of our community and bring you a great and refreshed Home experience."

One of the greatest complaints from the community was how cluttered everything felt and how the new UI prevented users from selecting their own backgrounds. The community would want to see a little more harmony between the objects to interact with and the backgrounds that personalize their homes.

Alpha and Alpha-Skip Xbox Insiders will be returned to the original Xbox Home experience they were using, and their pre-test settings and backgrounds will be activated, while Microsoft works to address the problems. Future use of the "new Home" settings will be preserved.

"I appreciate all the comments you've provided. Ivy Krislov, senior product manager lead, Xbox experiences, said: "It's an important component of our process, and our team is working hard to integrate it into the experience and provide it to you for usage. We are eager to provide you with much more information soon.
